About NEET 2022 (Answer Key To Be Released Soon)

NEET answer key 2022 is expected to be published in this week. Once the answer key for NEET 2022 is released, candidates can download it from the official website. NTA conducted NEET 2022 exam across 497 cities on July 17, 2022. The NEET official answer keys are usually released within 10 days of conducting the exam, however it's taking a bit longer this time. NEET result is announced 30 days after the exam is held.

The NEET exam 2022, or National Eligbility cum Entrance Test, is held once a year pan India. This medical entrance test is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The entrance test was formerly known as the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT). It is a nationwide exam that allows candidates to get admission into 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats. Students prepare for the exam thoroughly to ace the test on the NEET 2022 exam date and secure seats in the Top Medical Colleges of India. The main test was conducted as scheduled on July 17 for a duration of three hours and twenty minutes (200 minutes).

Aspirants need to clear the NEET 2022 exam successfully to secure a seat in medical programs such as MBBS, BDS, and several AYUSH courses in private as well as government institutes across the country. The NTA is the organizing body for NEET. It is instrumental in ensuring that the NEET 2022 exam is conducted smoothly and fairly. The medical entrance exam questions are asked in a multiple-choice format (MCQs) and the test is conducted in offline mode.

The NEET 2022 was conducted in a pen and paper format. So far, no changes have been implemented in the syllabus of NEET, and the exam pattern is the same as it was in 2021 with internal choice for Section B questions in each subject. From the year 2022 onwards, there will be no upper age limit for the NEET UG entrance exam, and the same has been confirmed by National Medical Commission (NMC). 

NTA has also revised the NEET 2022 exam duration and registration fees this year. As per the notice, the exam duration was revised and it is now 200 minutes (3 hours 20 minutes). The NEET Registration fees 2022 for the general category - ₹1,600, General-EWS, OBC-NCL - ₹1,500, SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender - ₹900, and for candidates from outside India - ₹8,500.

As per NEET latest news, candidates all over India have written a letter to the education minister of India seeking deferment of the medical entrance exam - NEET UG 2022. Aspirants have already addressed their concerns to the NTA, Health Ministry, and PM Modi to postpone the NEET 2022 exam. Candidates are now using hashtags such as #postponeneetug2022, #MODIJIdeferNEETUG, and #JusticeforNEETUG to express and convey their concerns for NEET 2022 exam. 

As per the latest need updates, Around 18,72,341 lakh candidates have registratered this year for NEET exams. By far, this is the highest number of registrations ever recorded till date. A significant jump of 2.5 lakh aspirants from last year has been witnessed in NEET 2022. Moreover, in 2021, around 15.44 lakh candidates gave the NTA NEET exam.

Another important update for NEET 2022 is that out of 18.72 lakh applicants, 10.64 lakh aspirants are women and 8.07 lakh candidates are males. This is the first time in recent years that the number of females has crossed the 10 lakh mark for a medical entrance exam.

This sharp increase in the number of applications for NEET 2022 could be due to many reasons including the new update that has removed the upper age limit and allowed people over 25 years of age to become eligible to take the exam.

NEET 2022 Result

NEET Result 2022 will be released after a month the exam is conducted. The exam will be conducted on July 17, as per the official notification released on April 6, 2022. The NEET Result is sent to all the candidates who appeared for the exam through their respective emails and it is also available online. The  scorecard has the candidate’s  subject-wise and total marks, percentile and most importantly, the All India Rank (AIR). In 2021, out of the 15,44,275 students who sat for the NEET UG exam, 8,70,074 candidates qualified.

NEET 2022 Cutoff

NEET 2022 cutoff will be declared after the results. The NTA NEET exam date 2022 is on July 17 and the official notification is yet to be released. Moreover, the NEET 2022 cutoff marks along with the NEET 2022 cutoff percentile will be listed on the final scorecard. If the candidates score more than the minimum NEET 2022 cutoff criteria and make it to the final merit list, then they will be considered qualified. Aspirants can then move to the NEET 2022 counselling process.

Important Points to be Noted for NEET 2022 Exam

Here are some of the key points that every aspirant should remember before attempting the NTA NEET exam:

  • Candidates can select to appear in the NEET exam in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Odia, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Telegu, Gujarati, Urdu, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Kannada.

  • The exam duration has been updated to 200 minutes (3 hours 20 minutes). Earlier it was 180 minutes (3 hours).

  • NEET 2022 will be conducted offline as a pen and paper-based test. Candidates will have to use ballpoint pens given at the exam centre to fill up the OMR sheets.

  • Candidates have to make a selection regarding the of medium of question paper while filling in the application form. The option once selected cannot be altered or modified.

  • Candidates should be born on or before December 31, 2005, to appear for NEET 2022. The upper age limit is removed earlier.

  • A candidate who has cleared Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology as main subjects can apply for NTA NEET Exam 2022.

  • The exam fees has been increased this year for all the category of the candidates. The details are as below:

NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The aspirants should check the eligibility criteria to know if they can appear for exam, as specified by the NTA. Only the candidates who will fulfill the NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria as mentioned below can take up the exam for 2022.

Age Limit

As per the official notification released on April 6, 2022, the lower age limit of the candidates to appear for NTA NEET Exam 2022. The candidates must be at least 17 years old (born on or before December 31, 2005 to appear for NEET 2022.

Earlier a statement was released by the Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Dr. Pulkesh Kumar on March 9, 2022 mentioning that the NEET 2022 upper age limit has been removed. This step will help a lot of aspirants to fulfill their aspirations even after reaching an age limit. 

Earlier the upper age limit for NEET UG aspirants was 25 years for all the candidates belonging to the General category and 30 years in case of the candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC,ST, OBC and so on). In a letter dated March 9, 2022, addressed to the National Testing Agency (NTA), Dr. Kumar has directed the national body to remove the maximum age limit parameter from the eligibility section of the NEET UG information bulletin.

Minimum Qualification 

Here are the pointers for the minimum educational qualification required to apply for NEET 2022

  • Candidates who have cleared their 10+2 from a recognised Board of Education or even an open school can appear for the exam.

  • It must also be noted that all aspiring candidates need to have PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in their 10+2 are also eligible for the exam. 

  • The minimum marks required for appearing in NEET UG 2022 varies for different categories. In the General category, aspiring candidates require 50% marks. In the PWD category, aspiring candidates require 45% marks. In the SC/ST/OBC category, aspiring candidates require 40% marks. 

NEET 2022 Exam - Admission Stages Involved

NEET 2022 admission is a lengthy process. Applicants need to be aware of all the different stages that are involved in NEET 2022. So, here is the complete process starting with online applications till the admission process is completed.

  • Stage 1:NEET 2022 Online Application Process - This is the stage when NEET 2022 online registration begins where the application form needs to be filled and submitted before the decided deadline. For 2022, the NTA NEET exam registration window has been opened on April 6 2022 and the deadline is May 6, 2022. After the last date, there is a NEET form correction 2022 window to be opened, where candidates can make corrections to the application forms and after that, no edits will be allowed. 
  • Stage 2: Availability of NEET 2022 Admit Card - In this stage, the NEET admit card 2022 of the candidates is released that can be downloaded from the NEET official website (neet nta nic in). The dates for NEET Admit Card 2022 will be notified after the application form submission window is closed. 
  • Stage 3:Conducting of NEET UG 2022 Exam - This stage is the primary for all the aspirants. NEET nta nic in Exam will be conducted on July 17, 2022. So, make sure you prepare well for the NEET entrance exam in advance and appear at the allocated center on or before time.
  • Stage 4: Declaration of official Answer Key - After the NEET 2022 exam date, the provisional answer key is released, and later the final answer key is released. Candidates can check and gauge how well they have fared in the NTA NEET exam.
  • Stage 5: NEET 2022 Result Announcement - After the final answer key is released, the aspirants can expect the announcement of the result soon. The NEET 2022 result date is not released but it is tentatively in September 2022. 
  • Stage 6: Admission process through Four NEET 2022 Counselling Rounds - After the declaration of the NEET 2022 result, the counselling round begins for seat allotment. There are four NEET counseling rounds, namely, Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up round, and Stray Vacancy Round. The counselling dates will be released after the result is announced.

How to Apply for NEET Application Form 2022

Documents Required to Fill the NEET 2022 Application Form:

Before filling out the NEET application form 2022, students need to gather all the documents and create them in a standard size digitally as mentioned in the instructions. This will smoothen your registration form filling process and prevent any server timeouts. Here are all the details and documents you require while filling out the NEET 2022 application form:

  • Identity card: Verified IDs such as an Aadhaar card, pan card, ration card, passport, bank account passbook, or some other government photo ID card are required and accepted.

  • Personal details: Personal and communication details like candidate and parents' name, date of birth (DOB), temporary and permanent address, active email ID, and personal mobile number.

  • Images: Candidates need scanned images of a recent passport size photograph, signature, postcard size photograph, and left thumb impression.

Steps to Fill and Submit the NEET Application Form 2022:

The NEET application process 2022 allows students to appear for the entrance test and secure admission into their dream colleges. There are various steps involved in the NEET registration process such as:

  • Step 1- Head over to the official website of NEET 2022

  • Step 2- Click on the NEET (UG) Website and Registration button 

  • Step 3- Fill in all the relevant details in the NEET 2022 Application Form as required. These include Full Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, and educational qualification 

  • Step 4- Mention the present address as well as the permanent address of the candidate with the correct pin code, locality, district, city/town/village, state, and country

  • Step 5- Choose a secure password and select a security question and a security pin of your choice

  • Step 6- Mention your category (whether General/SC/ST/OBC/PwD). Remember that once selected, the category of the NEET 2022 exam cannot be changed later. Mention if a scribe is required (for PwD category candidates) 

  • Step 7- Select the medium of question paper you would like to appear for on the NEET exam date 2022 and make your choice of exam center

  • Step 8- Upload documents such as the Class 10 and 12 mark sheet and passing certificates

  • Step 9- A passport size color photograph of the candidate and a postcard size color photograph (dimensions: 4”x6”) need to be uploaded in the size 10KB to 200KB 

  • Step 10- A photograph of the signature of the applicant with black ink on white paper (size: 4KB to 30 KB) will need to be uploaded 

  • Step 11- A photograph of the left thumb impression of the applicant (size: 10KB to 200KB) has to be uploaded 

  • Step 12- The NEET 2022 application fees must be paid by the applicant through the SBI/HDFC/ICICI/Canara Bank/Paytm Payment Gateway or through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net banking/UPI/Wallet. 

  • Step 13- Print the fee payment receipt for future use 

  • Step 14- Click submit and wait for verification by the concerned authorities to appear for the NEET 2022 exam.

NEET 2022 Form Correction

NEET 2022 form correction allows candidates to make changes in some aspects of their registration form details. Earlier, the form correction window was open from May 24, 2022 to May 27, 2022. Applicants were allowed to edit/ modify details of their NEET 2022 registration details like:

  • Gender

  • Mother’s name

  • Father’s name

  • Category

  • Person with Disability Status    

  • Medium of NTA NEET exam

  • Nationality

  • State Code of Eligibility    

  • Marks obtained in the qualifying exam

In light of providing candidates more scope to make changes, the NTA opened the NEET 2022 form correction again between June 14 to June 16, 2022. Aspirants were allowed to edit/ modify only their category that was filled incorrectly in the application form.

How to Make Corrections in NEET 2022 Application Form?

Every year NTA gives candidates a chance to edit/ modify incorrect details in the NEET application form 2022. It is a one-time facility that only registered candidates can avail. Aspirants need to edit the NEET 2022 registration form correctly as they won’t get the opportunity for the third time. Wondering how to make the edits? Here is how to make corrections in the application form of NEET exam:

  1. Visit the official website for NEET 2022 login

  2. Enter your application number and date of birth on the candidate portal to sign in

  3. Select the option form correction and begin making changes

  4. Verify all the changes made thoroughly

  5. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number to approve the corrections made

  6. Click on the final submit button to confirm all your newly-made corrections

  7. Download the NEET 2022 form correction slip for future references

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern

There is no substantial change in NEET Exam Pattern 2022 and it is the same as the previous year. The total number of questions is 200. However, the candidate has to answer only 180 questions to score as high as possible for them. The rest of the questions provide options that help students to select the ones they know the answer to and provide a modicum of relief through the process. 

Each subject of the NEET 2022 syllabus is divided into Section A and Section B. In Section A, there are 35 questions, while Section B has 15 questions. The options are present in Section B. Therefore, the candidate has to answer 10 out of 15 questions provided there during the NEET 2022 exam. Within the duration of 200 minutes (3 hours 20 minutes), the candidate has to mark the answers on the OMR sheet provided to them. 

  • The NEET 2022 exam can be given by the aspirants in any of the preferred 13 languages like Hindi, English, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Marathi, Assamese, and Urdu.

  • The NTA NEET exam is an offline entrance test held in pen and paper mode.

  • Each right answer to questions in NEET 2022 exam carries a maximum of 4 marks.

  • The maximum time allotted for the NEET exam 2022 is 3 hours and 20 minutes.

  • Questions from subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Botany, and Zoology will be asked to the candidates during the NEET 2022 exam.

  • For every wrong answer a candidate makes on the NEET 2022 exam date, the negative marking will be 1 mark per answer.

The NEET 2022 Syllabus mainly consists of the three subjects involved in the Science stream. These subjects are Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematics is not compulsory for even though opting for it is not a hindrance. The syllabus is the same as that of classes 11 and 12. NEET 2022 Admit Card

The NEET 2022 Admit Card will be released on July 12, 2022 at 11:30 am. It will be available online and can be downloaded from the official website. The NTA NEET Exam Date 2022 is out and it will be conducted on June 17, 2022. Generally, the admit card or hall ticket is released two weeks via online mode, before the exam in online mode. 

To get the NEET admit card 2022, the candidate has to log in with their NEET registration/application number/Roll Number and password and then download the admit card in PDF format. Print it out and then paste a recent postcard-sized photograph (dimensions: 4"x6") in the space provided on the NEET Admit Card. 

The NEET 2022 Admit Card has to be signed by the parent/guardian of the candidate. However, the space provided for the signature of the candidate has to remain blank. It must be filled by the candidate in front of the counselling officials. The NEET Admit Card 2022 has to be carried to the examination center in order to sit for the exam.

NEET Exam 2022 Tie-Breaking Criteria

There are often cases where two students get the same marks in the NEET exam. In such situations, the NTA has a NEET tie-breaking criteria that helps moderators come to a conclusion. Below-mentioned is the NEET tie-breaking criteria in order of priority if two people get the same marks in NEET 2022.

  1. Candidate who has scored higher marks in biology will be given the first preference or a higher rank. 

  2. If the NEET exam 2022 tie still exists, then the aspirant who has scored high marks in chemistry will be provided with a higher rank.

  3. If the tie still does not break, then the candidates scoring more marks in the physics subject will be given a higher rank. 

  4. Candidate who has fewer incorrect responses in comparison to correct responses in Biology will be preferred over the other.

  5. Candidate who has fewer incorrect responses in comparison to correct responses in Chemistry will be preferred over the other.

  6. Candidate who has fewer incorrect responses in comparison to correct responses in Physics will be preferred over the other.

  7. Lastly, if the tie still persists after applying all the above-mentioned methods, then the candidate older in age will be directly allocated a higher rank.

NEET 2022 Merit List

The NTA will release two NEET 2022 merit lists by the end of June. One is for All India Rankers and the second one is for Quota candidates. The NEET merit list 2022 will give aspirants clarity on whether they have made it to the counselling rounds or not. The NEET 2022 merit list can further be bifurcated into -

  • The All India Merit List will comprise the candidates’ rank numbers who appeared for NEET 2022 along with their cut-off score, cut-off percentile, and marks. It will not consider the candidate’s category as the merit list is AIQ. The NEET 2022 merit list will also display the total number of candidates who have appeared for the NEET UG 2022 examination.

NEET 2022 Counselling will start within a month after the result is declared. The counselling process helps in getting the candidate the medical college of their dream. The counselling is conducted for the 15% All India Seats and the 85% State Quota Seats.
