First Reactions

The first reaction that we got after interacting with a few students who took NEET 2018 in Delhi centers from 10 am to 1 pm was very mixed.

Few of the students were of the opinion that out of the 4 sections, Chemistry was the toughest and then followed by Zoology as the second toughest, Botany and then Physics at the last. In fact, this was the trend even last year.

Physics section was of moderate difficulty level and a well-prepared student can score in this section.

One more change in Physics and Chemistry section as compared to last year was that this year the questions in these two sections were more calculation-intensive and time-consuming.

In Physics, approximately 50% questions were calculation-based and 25% were theoretical but required in-depth level of conceptual clarity.

In Physics section, almost equal number of questions were asked from both 12th and 11 class syllabus.

While in Chemistry section, 15 -16 questions were from 11th class and close to 30 questions from the 12th class syllabus.

Out of Zoology and Botany sections, Zoology was tougher and had more questions.

Zoology had approximately 1/3 difficult questions while Botany section had 1/4 difficult questions.

Zoology was the only section that had more questions from class 11th compared to class 12th.

In Botany section, there were 25 questions from class 12th and 20 questions from class 11th.

How to Prepare for NEET UG 2019

With some smart NEET preparation tips, you can start your preparation today and become confident to take the exam next year. Conducted in the month of May, NEET is a national-level exam taken by medical/dental students for admission to MBBS/BDS colleges across the country.

These tips and tricks can help the aspirants stay focused and dedicated to the entrance exam preparation.

NEET Preparation Tips 2019

1. Grasp All the Information Related to NEET

If you are aiming to crack NEET 2019, then you must not forget to have a detailed information about the exam. Apart from keeping a track of NEET Latest News & Updates, you must focus on becoming familiar with the NEET exam pattern, topic-wise marks distribution, time duration and best NEET books to refer. Knowing all these details beforehand is the best way to prepare for NEET.

2. Have a Clear Picture of NEET Syllabus in Your Mind

Having a comprehensive knowledge of the syllabus is a must before you start your NEET 2019 preparation. NEET syllabus is quite vast, and therefore, it is advisable to divide the syllabus of different subjects into small parts for a better understanding.

Knowing the syllabus completely will:

  • Enable you to segregate the topics that are hard and time-consuming from the quick and easy ones.

  • Give you a brief idea about conceptual, application based and interconnected topics.

3. Set your Priorities Right

When it comes to the question 'How to Prepare for NEET?', it is quite important to set your priorities right. You should devise a proper study schedule so that you can keep a track of your day-to-day activities. Devoting considerable amount of time to your studies should be on the top of your list. However, you must not ignore your eating and sleeping habits in the process. Additionally, while studying for NEET, prioritise your subjects according to their weightage and the time required for preparation.

4. Take Scheduled Breaks

It has been observed quite often that candidates preparing for medical entrances have a habit of marathon study sessions. If you also fall into this category, then, the sooner you avoid this practice, the better it will be for you in the long run. To study in a better way, you must plan and take timely breaks in between the long study sessions. Gradually, by following this practice:

  • You will improve your focus and level of concentration.

  • You will be able to handle difficult and time-taking problems faster.

5. Evaluation

The final step, which completes the process of any exam preparation, is its evaluation. Without evaluation, your preparation for NEET will remain deficient. In order to evaluate your exam preparation, practicing sample papers and mock tests on a regular basis might be your saviors. Apart from that, perpetual guidance from your mentors, seniors or fellow mates can help you immensely.

Evaluation will:

  • Test your knowledge of key concepts.

  • Help you in knowing the specific areas where you need to work on.

  • Test your overall preparedness.
