NEET UG 2018 Paper Pattern
No. of Questions
Marks per Question
The first reaction that we got after interacting with a few students who took NEET 2018 in Delhi centers from 10 am to 1 pm was very mixed.
Few of the students were of the opinion that out of the 4 sections, Chemistry was the toughest and then followed by Zoology as the second toughest, Botany and then Physics at the last. In fact, this was the trend even last year.
Physics section was of moderate difficulty level and a well-prepared student can score in this section.
One more change in Physics and Chemistry section as compared to last year was that this year the questions in these two sections were more calculation-intensive and time-consuming.
In Physics, approximately 50% questions were calculation-based and 25% were theoretical but required in-depth level of conceptual clarity.
In Physics section, almost equal number of questions were asked from both 12th and 11 class syllabus.
While in Chemistry section, 15 -16 questions were from 11th class and close to 30 questions from the 12th class syllabus.
Out of Zoology and Botany sections, Zoology was tougher and had more questions.
Zoology had approximately 1/3 difficult questions while Botany section had 1/4 difficult questions.
Zoology was the only section that had more questions from class 11th compared to class 12th.
In Botany section, there were 25 questions from class 12th and 20 questions from class 11th.
Section-wise Difficulty Level of NEET UG 2018
The overall cut-off for NEET in 2018 will fall by few marks as compared to the year 2017 as the number of candidates has increased to 13 lakh plus this year.
It will be somewhere close to 125 to 130.
If reports are to be believed, the exam was held for over 1.3 million students in 136 cities across India. The examination was held in over 2000 centers by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
In the NEET UG examination, there is only one paper with 180 objective type questions. For every question, students had 4 options, out of which they had to choose one right answer. The paper was divided into Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

If you also fall into this category, then, the sooner you avoid this practice, the better it will be for you in the long run. To study in a better way, you must plan and take timely breaks in between the long study sessions. Gradually, by following this practice:
You will improve your focus and level of concentration.
You will be able to handle difficult and time-taking problems faster.
The final step, which completes the process of any exam preparation, is its evaluation. Without evaluation, your preparation for NEET will remain deficient.
