This decision is anticipated due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Fengal, which has caused widespread disruption. According to the latest data released by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Chengalpattu, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur, and Puducherry districts have been issued anred alert. Anorange alerthas been issued for various coastal regions of the state, including Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Thiruvallur, and Ranipettai. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai predictsmoderate to heavy downpours with thunderstormsthroughout the day. In light of the IMD's alert, the school holiday in the affected districts has been extended to November 29, 2024.
