Teachers Have Capability to Transform Andhra Pradesh into Education Hub: AP CM

Addressing the gathering at the Teachers’ Day celebrations organised by the Andhra Pradesh government on September 5, 2017, Chief Minister Mr. N. Chandra Babu Naidu indicated that teachers have the capability to transform Andhra Pradesh into an education and knowledge hub. He termed teaching as a noble profession and pointed that the role of teachers could not be changed despite technological advances. On this occasion, he felicitated 131 teachers and awarded them with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 along with a tab. Teachers who received national awards were presented scooters.

Teachers from various parts of the state attended the annual teachers’ day celebrations of Andhra Pradesh that took place at ‘A’ Plus Convention Hall, Vijayawada. Chief Minister of AP further revealed that the state government has been working consistently to transform AP into a knowledge and education hub. The state government has also initiated the process of setting up private universities and their campuses at Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, he added.

Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu also mentioned that the state government would also set up 18 medical colleges in Amaravati soon. The state government is also taking steps to revamp the infrastructure to improve the quality of education. New school buildings are being constructed to accommodate more students. He also appreciated the efforts of government teachers who played a significant role in increasing the student strength in government schools. The enrolment of students in government schools has increased with the introduction of English medium, he concluded.
