Telangana to Get Skill Development University Soon
Telangana Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that the state will soon get its first skill development university. The university will help in the skill development at the state-level.
On Friday, 25th August, the Telangana Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took some crucial decisions on the skill development courses in the state in a meeting. The review meeting was held to discuss the introduction of more career-oriented courses and skill development institutes. He further informed that the first skill development university will be established in Telangana.
To improve the skills of students of Polytechnic, ITI, engineering, and other courses, the CM of Telangana has proposed setting up institutes in each of the constituencies which will be affiliated under a centralized university to be set up in Telangana. It is proposed that the government departments will coordinate with the university for various causes.
A number of development activities will be taken up for the university for which, an IAS officer will be appointed within a week to assure the smooth functioning of the university. An apprenticeship will be given to the students for one year which can be increased for 6 months more depending on the performance of the student. The funds for the proposed university will be generated through the finance department.
Chief Minister Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has suggested digitalising the employment exchange schemes like Uber and Ola. It will help to map the existing skill development resources at the rural level.
The review meeting was attended by Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh, Minister for Finance Buganna Rajendranath, Chief Secretary LV Subramanyam and Industries Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy.

The chief minister said that Telangana will emerge as a role model with the establishment of the skill development university and the employment of the skill-development course students. The skill development courses will be brought under one umbrella in 25 skill development institutes to be set up across the state under the University which is decided to be set up in a month under the action plan.
