UGC has sent letters to various universities across the country asking them to celebrate the International Day of Yoga with mass demonstrations. The regulatory body has asked the universities to start elaborate training programmes to teach common Yoga protocols for a mass Yoga presentation.

On the occasion of 5th Yoga Day, PM Modi addressed that Yoga assures fitness and wellness. It ensures a healthy body, stable mind and spirit of oneness in society.

Authorities of all educational institutes have been asked to participate and regulate these programmes. Eminent yoga experts will also be providing lectures and courses at the universities regarding the same to mark the International Yoga Day on 21st June 2019. UGC has asked the universities to follow the Common Yoga Protocol - CYP 2019 received by the Ministry of AYUSH. The CYP is a 45 minute long of Yoga Asanas.
