Coronavirus Impact: Universities and Colleges in Rajasthan Cancel UG / PG Exams
The University of Rajasthan has decided to cancel the annual examinations of the UG and PG courses conducted by all of the higher education institutions in the country.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic in India, theuniversities and colleges in Rajashthanhave decided to cancel all of the annual examinations of their undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan CM has announced the cancellation of all colleges, universities and technical institutions examinations, due to COVID-19. The assessment of students for promotion will be on the basis of the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development.
The decision was made after a meeting was held at the CM's house on July 4, 2020. An official notification regarding the same is yet to be released. The students had been asking for the cancellation of the exams for a long time. Many students organization bodies also held online protests against conducting the exams amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier,Rajasthan Technical Universityand theUniversity of Rajasthanhad decided to postpone the exams and has released the tentative time tables for the UG and PG courses exams to be conducted from July 15, 2020, onward.
The impact of the Coronavirus outbreak on higher education in India has been severe and school education has also faced a major setback from the pandemic. Many of thenational and state-level examinations have been postponed due to Coronavirus, including those Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) Class 10 and 12 exams.
