UP Government Allocates Rs. 73 Crores for Improvement of Education in Minority Regions
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna stated that the budget will include a provision of Rs. 73 crores under the PM Jan Vikas Karkyakram which will be used to improve education facilities, sanitation, health, drinking water, and other infrastructure facilities in minority-dominated areas.
Under the ‘Pradhanmantri Jan Vikas Karyakram’, the Uttar Pradesh Government has allocated 73 crores in its 2020-21 budget for the improvement of education and basic facilities in minority-dominated areas. In his budget speech, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna stated that the budget will include a provision of Rs. 73 crores under the PM Jan Vikas Karkyakram which will be used to improve education facilities, sanitation, health, drinking water, and other infrastructure facilities in minority-dominated areas.

Apart from that, besides the religious education in recognised Madarsas and Maktabs, a budget of Rs. 479 crores have been allotted for the improvement of educational facilities for modern subjects.

Rising slightly above the last year’s budget of Rs 94,853 crore, the union budget of 2020 has allocated a total of Rs. 99,300 crores for the educational department. Apart from this, Rs 3,000 crore has been also sanctioned for the year 2020 for the skill development of students. Besides all these sanctions, the ministry has also promised to set up several new institutes such as National Police University, Indian Institute of Heritage and Conservation, and National Forensic University.
It is a good sign that the government is trying to empower minority communities through education schemes, and an overall growth can be foreseen in all these regions soon. Investment in Education Development is a right move, as it will have a good impact on the development of the state in future.
