Vice President Naidu Addresses 65th Annual Day of Andhra Loyola College
Andhra Loyola College (ALC) Vijayawada celebrated its 65th annual day celebrations on January 05, 2019. Vice President of India, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu was the Chief Guest for the annual day celebrations of ALC Vijayawada.
One of the oldest colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Loyola College (ALC) Vijayawada celebrated its 65 th annual day celebrations on January 05, 2019, at college ground. Vice President of India, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu was the Chief Guest for the annual day celebrations of ALC Vijayawada.
Addressing the students, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said that India would soon emerge as the third largest economic force in the world. Students need to rely on foreign countries for higher education. Even if students go abroad for higher studies and job, they can come back after earning money. Every student must give preference to his/her nation first, he added.
Adding further, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu expressed that India is popular for its cultural and heritage. It is the responsibility of each student to know the greatness of Indian culture, history of forefathers and heritage. Students must inculcate the ideology of Secularism, and one should follow region, religion, and caste. Students must treat every religion, caste, and region equally, he indicated.

Mr. Venkaiah Naidu emphasised on redesigning education system in India. Values and culture should be included in education for better future. He revealed that he reached the position of the second top constitutional head in India due to discipline and punctuality. Every student must note that these two aspects are very important for career growth, he pointed out.
Mr. Naidu advised students not to spend more time using mobile phones. Instead, students can focus on innovations. Cinemas and social media are dominating the youth today. He advised the aspiring filmmakers to make movies on social issues.
As a part of 65 th annual day celebrations of ALC Vijayawada, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu released a book on Founder of ALC, Rev. Fr. Theo Mathias. Mr. Naidu recalled the efforts made by Theo Mathias for establishing a great educational institute in Vijayawada.

Mr. Naidu presented the awards to students who excelled in academics. Some of the lecturers were awarded for their outstanding contribution to the development of the college.
All the top officials of ALC Vijayawada were present at the event. Students performed various cultural programmes.
