GITAM Deemed University (Vizag) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LSC (Logistics Skill Council) on January 04, 2019. The main objective of the MoU with LSC is to create a sustainable skill ecosystem affiliated to the industry needs for logistics through creating excellent occupational standards apprentice-based BBA programme in Logistics and delivering quality training. The MoU will majorly focus on effective conduction of BBA programme in Logistics from the academic session 2019-20.
Logistics Skill Council is a not-for-profit organization that works under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. National Skill Development Corporation of India plays a major role in the functioning of LSC. The Governing Council of LSC comprises of eminent industrialists.

As a part of GITAM’s MOU with LSC, the council is responsible for conducting apprentice-based programme in Logistics. The programme aims to train students in skills necessary for taking up jobs in the logistics sector. LSC ensures that all the students secure jobs in the logistics sector after the completion of the course.
CEO of Logistics Sector Council, Capt. TS Ramanujan revealed that the main vision of the government is to create over 28 million skilled workforces in the logistics sector. The aim is to be achieved with the constant support of eminent training partners, he added.

The MoU between GITAM and LSC will be beneficial for students who are looking for a bright career in the logistics sector. On the other hand, the MoU shall benefit the logistics industry by providing a skilled workforce.
