West Bengal: Applcation From for UG Admission 2021 to be Released on August 2
As per the sources, the UG admissions in West Bengal are likely to begin in August first week and end by September 30.
West Bengal UG Admission 2021: In the second week of July, a meeting was held by West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu among the state-run universities’ chancellors to discuss the UG admissions in the state. The virtual meeting was conducted for an hour between the education minister and the vice-chancellors as the participants. One of the vice-chancellors stated some major decisions were made in the meeting regarding the undergraduate admissions in the affiliated colleges and universities. He also added that he cannot disclose the clarity on schedule and the admission process as the notification will be released by the higher education department soon.

Vice-Chancellors from over 20 Universities of West Bengal attended the meeting. One of the sources also confirmed that the admission in UG courses at the state will start from August 2 and end by September 30. The admissions will be wrapped up before the Durga Puja vacations. However, the meeting did not discuss the issue of blended teaching and exam methods for the students & varsities. Various states have decided to cancel the board exams for this year due to the pandemic and related safety concerns. CISCE and CBSE boards have also announced that the board exams will not be conducted this year.

The admission process for PG courses in Universities was also discussed in the meeting. The admission for PG courses is likely to start in September, as stated by one source. It is also likely that the government will not charge any entrance fees under the lockdown effects.
