Mahadevi Institute of Technology(MIT) proffers courses in IT and managment and is the most recent outcome of Mahadevi Kanya Pathshala College Group, a group that had its beginning in 1902. Smt. Mahadevi Bhatnagar and her husband Sri Jyoti Swaroop Bhatnagar were the founders of the MKP, with the aim to bring contemporary and modern education to girls and at the same time infuse in them values of Indian heritage like wisdom and goodness. MIT was established in 2006, as a premier institution to make available technical education exclusively to the women, starting with MCA, and then MBA and subsequently B.Tech courses in various specializations. The mission is to help provide the socio-economic means to impart quality education to women, and also the environment that aids their overall personality development. It joins the diverse club of MKP group of colleges, which hosts a plethora of educational streams like its MKP inter college and MKP (PG) College engaging students in fields of arts, commerce, science, psychology, painting, political science, economics, Hindi, Home Science, etc. MKP has welcomed over the years eminent personalities such as Queen Victoria, Lala Lajpat Rai, Indira Gandhi, with the Honourable President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam opening the Centenary Function in 2002.
The placement cell of MIT comes under the administration of the Director of the Institute and has tied up with many IT industries to help its students start their careers in a secure manner. The cell arranges industry visits within the city of Dehradun and also welcomes guest lectures from industry veterans and experts. Mrs L. Modi, who is the Chairperson of Uttarakhand Chapter of CII, is also a member of Board of Governors of the Institute, and works to establish constant and seamless connection between industry and college. Summer training is also conducted for sixth semester MCA students.
