This year, 823 SC students have secured placed in Common Rank List of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The JEE examination is conducted every year for the admission into IITs. These 823 students secured general rank without using the entitled 50 percent relaxation in marks.

According to the report of IIT Guwahati, 22 students out of 823 secured ranks between 1 – 2,000 in the Common Ranks List. The students irrespective of their category need to score a minimum of 10 percent of marks in each subject and also an aggregate of 20 percent of marks.
The number of qualifiers from SC to CRL has been increased this year. last year, 515 students have secured ranks in the Common merit list. The proportion of the SC students who had secured the general ranks last year had been increased to 20 percent out of 2,570 students who had cleared the examination.
