The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra announced that Aadhaar Card or Number is mandatory for the students who are going to appear for MHT-CET 2017. The candidates have to submit the Aadhaar Card along with the other required documents at the time of counselling process. Aadhaar Card will be considered as a proof of identity from the academic session 2017-18.

The candidates have to attend the counselling process for MHT-CET 2017 with all the below-mentioned documents: -
- Income Certificate
- Domicile Certificate
- Non-Creamy Layer Certificate
- Caste Certificate
- Tribe Validity Certificate (if applicable)
- Aadhaar Card or Number
If any candidate fails to present themselves without these documents, his/her candidature will be cancelled.

MHT-CET 2017 for the admission to Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) courses will take place on May 11, 2017. Every year, on an average, 4 lakh candidates register for MHT-CET examination.
Earlier, DTE had announced that MHT-CET is not mandatory for All-India Quota (AIQ) students from 2017. In the year 2016, AIQ seats were filled through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). The seats which remained vacant after CAP were filled as per JEE Score.
Till 2015, DTE used to carry out engineering admissions by considering JEE score. However, MHT-CET was reintroduced in the year 2016. Around 3,97,000 candidates qualified MHT-CET 2016 examination.
DTE did not release the schedule of MHT-CET 2017 examination. So far, it has only announced the date of examination and other details are awaited.
