The Arts department of Andhra Christian College, Guntur organized a Guest lecture of ‘RTI(Right to Information)’ on 24-March-2016. The guest lecture was delivered by Mr.Vijaya Babu, Deputy Commissioner, RTI, Guntur and former minister of education, Shri.Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad.
Addressing the students, Mr.Vijay Babu said, “RTI was introduced in the year 2005 and still people are not utilizing it properly”. He advised the students to make use of RTI and also to educate the citizens about RTI.
Shri.Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad spoke that, “The Government has taken a lot of measures to implement the RTI in an effective way but failed as people failed to utilize it”. He felt that the youth of the nation has to take a step ahead in the better functioning of RTI.
The guest lecture was attended by the faculty of Arts department, students, print and electronic media.
