Birla Institute of Technology invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to the 3-year (6-semester) Full-Time Master in Computer Applications (MCA) programme at Mesra and its Extension Centre at Jaipur, Lalpur and Noida for the session 2016-17.
The Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, will conduct an Online Computer Based Test for shortlisting candidates. The Online Entrance Test will be held on 4th June 2016 and 5th June 2016 (Saturday & Sunday) at various Test Centers.
Candidates must give two choices for first and second preference of Test Center from the list of Test Centers above. In case the number of candidates opting for a given Test Center is less than a certain minimum, the Institute reserves the right to shift candidates to the nearest alternative Test Center. The final list of Test Centers will be notified on the Institute website.
Eligibility Criteria-
1) Candidates must have passed with Mathematics / Computer Science as one of the subject in Class 12 / Equivalent Examination.
2) Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India / AIU. This degree must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling [Class 12 or equivalent] (10+2+3 system).
Qualifications-
a) Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), or
b) B.Sc. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics, or
c) B.Sc. with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at graduate level.
-Candidates with above mentioned qualifications (item-3) must have minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average in graduation, marks to be computed as average of marks obtained in all subjects in which candidate has appeared.
-Candidates with B.Sc. Honours must have minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks in average in their Honours subject.
-Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2016 can also apply, provided they have obtained requisite marks or equivalent (as per item 4 or 5 above) based on latest available grades / marks at the time of applying, and if selected can join the programme provisionally.
How to apply-
To apply for the MCA program 2016, eligible candidates must complete and submit the online application form on website www.bitmesra.ac.in and send a printout of the completed form along with two recent colour photographs (one pasted on the form and one attached by clip to the form); photocopies of all marksheets and certificates.
Pay application fee Rs 2,500/- (General) Rs 1500/- (SC/ST) non-refundable in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra through E-challan (printable while filling online form) in a SBI/ ICICI bank within the given time period.
