National Institute of Technology Manipur invites applications for Admission to PhD Programme in January Academic Semester 2016 Session. Applications are invited for admission to PhD Programme for January Academic Semester 2016 Session in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Thermal), Physics (Material Science) , Chemistry (Physical, Organic), Mathematics, Electrical (Control)
Eligibility
The candidates for Ph.D. Programme may be offered admission, based on certain minimum academic requirements to be satisfied by the candidates as given below:
1) Engineering (Electrical & Mechanical): Master Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI equivalent to 60% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute. OR
Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology with an excellent academic record and with a CPI equivalent to 70% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute.
Seat – 1 Full Time Electrical, 2 Full time in Mechanical
Those Candidates who qualify GATE will be given preference.
2) Civil Engineering – See attachment for eligibility and seats
3) Sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics): Master Degree in Science in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI equivalent to 60% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute with valid GATE score or NET qualified.
Seat – Phy – 1 full time, Chem – 2 Full time, Math – 4 Full time
Selection Procedure
The admission to Ph.D. Programme will be on the basis of weightage as given below:
Overall academic performance (to be fixed by the PhD Admission Committee): 70%
Interview conducted by the Department : 30%
Syllabus for the Entrance examination
Will be uploaded by each department separately.
STIPEND / FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
As per MHRD Norm.
