Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Dehradun invites applications for admission to 3 years Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) programs offered at various specializations for the session 2016-17.
A constituent college of Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) offers MD program in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, Radio Diagnosis, Anesthesiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Radio-therapy and MS program in General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Otrohinolaryngology, Ophthalmology and Obstetrics & Gynecology
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate, who holds an MBBS degree from a recognized medical college or a foreign medical degree included in the schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or from any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship, shall be eligible to apply.
The candidates who have obtained MBBS degree from the medical colleges which are not recognized by MCI shall not be eligible to appear in this test.
A candidate, who after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign medical degree recognized by MCI), is undergoing a 12 month compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete the same by 31st March of the admission year, can also apply.
Selection Procedure
Candidates who secure a minimum of 50% marks in the Postgraduate Medical Entrance Examination (PGMEE) shall be considered for admission.
There will be one paper of 3 hours duration containing 250 multiple choice questions consisting of all the subjects of MBBS (graduate) curriculum.
The questions will be single response objective type. For each correct response a candidate shall be awarded four marks. One mark will be deducted for every wrong response. Zero mark will be given for the questions not attempted. More than one answer indicated against a question will be considered as an incorrect response and one mark will be deducted.
