ADTU and IASST Sign MoU

The Assam Down Town University (ADTU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Advanced Study in Science & Technology (IASST), an autonomous research and development institute under the Union Ministry of Science & Technology for research and development collaboration.

Assam Down Town University was established through the Assam Down Town University Act, 2010[1] in the state of Assam, India in 2010. The university was established by the down town Charity Trust, which is promoted by Down Town Hospital Limited.[2]The group has been in education and training since 1993.

The MoU was signed by Dr NN Dutta, Chancellor of ADTU and Dr NC Talukdar, Director of IASST. The MoU is aimed at creating a framework with specific objectives such as to establish close linkage and functional coordination between ADTU and IASST for facilitating joint collaborative research work between students and faculties, registration of research scholars of IASST at ADTU as per the university’s rules and regulations to consider the qualified IASST experts as accredited instructors and guides for teaching, research programmes and vice versa. Also, the MoU was signed to facilitate creation of new experimental research and training facilities through mutual cooperation and exchange of experts between Institute of Advanced Study in Science & Technology and Assam Down Town University.

The collaboration is also expected to enhance the individual growth of scientific capabilities and qualities of the two institutions.
