A total of nineteen toppers from the various stream such as Medical, engineering, management etc. are to be felicitated at the annual convocation of Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna on 19th March 2016.
The Vice Chancellor of AKU Mr. A.K. Agrawal informed that the a total of 7330 students would be conferred with their degrees. The students are the ones who have graduated in last two years. The VC also said that 450 students have registered themselves for the convocation and thus, they would be receiving the degrees in personally.
The chief guest for the convocation would Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, the governor cum chancellor of the university. Mr. Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, the education minister of the state would be the guest of honour for the convocation.
There is a total of eighty colleges, both government and private in the Aryabhatta Knowledge University, with a total student strength of 25000. It is noteworthy that AKU is the only professional university in the state. The registrar of the university, Mr. Ajay Pratap Singh said that the university has been imparting courses under engineering, medical, education, management, nursing and pharmacy. Several colleges have switched to AKU in the recent years including Patna Medical College and Hospital. The university is currently running in Chanakya National Law University campus, Patna.
