Lakhs of primary and secondary students are set to be promoted to the next class but students at AU and its constituent colleges will have to earn their promotion by appearing for the final exam. The Allahabad University or AU’s controller of the exam has rejected the request of promotion without exam raised by vivid quarters and AU teachers association president.
Professor RK Singh, the controller of examination of the Allahabad University, displayed his trust on the teachers stating that despite the delay in completing the examination process caused by the sudden outbreak of coronavirus, he is convinced that the teachers of AU will conclude the entire exercise in around a fortnight which usually consumes over a month. He further commented on the issue saying that despite the delay, he does not see any rationale in promoting all the students of Allahabad University and its constituent colleges without conducting the examination. The statement delivered by Professor RK Singh bears huge significance as the president of Allahabad University Teachers Association (AUTA), Professor Ram Sevak Dubey has demanded the promotion of all the students to the next level without the exams due to nation-wide lockdown.

Professor RK Singh further added that once the situation will return to normalcy, the university will announce fresh dates for the exams. He further added that as soon as the exams will be over, teachers will have to burn the midnight oil and finish the evaluation work within a fortnight so that the result can be announced at the earliest. The controller of examination also spoke on the semester examination. He said that most of us were taking classes through different online methods but few of them have been unable to attend due to poor connectivity.
Professor Singh claimed that once the situation will return to normal, special classes will be arranged for students so that they complete as much course as possible. This would not leave them amidst any disadvantage and then they could hold exams for the semester courses too. Commenting on the issue, Rohit Mishra, the former president of AU student Union, said that the students have the potential of meeting the challenge. The university must accelerate the process once the things become normal again.
