Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University is planning to introduce Digital On-Screen Evaluation System - DOES from the next academic session. The main aim to introduce the on-screen evaluation system is to do away with the old system of evaluating answer sheets manually to speed up the process.
On a pilot project basis, the answer sheets of all the postgraduate courses will be evaluated by using DOES and later the same will be used for all the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the university.
The online evaluation system is introduced to reform the old examination system. This system will cut down unnecessary time and effort involved in the manual evaluation of answer scripts. This will not only cut down cumbersome process involved but will also help in releasing the result within the 15 days of examination which was always delayed earlier.
Earlier it used to take more than a month to provide a photocopy of the answer script to students, but with the new digitized system, students can be provided with the answer scripts immediately.
Prof, K Seetharama Rao, Vice Chancellor, stated that the university will establish evaluation centres for the same and the evaluation of the answer sheets will be done in a foolproof manner. He also said that the administration is also planning to make certificates available on the National Academic Depository to the students.
