Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU has installed another RT-PCR Testing machine to fight the battle against COVID-19. The hospital is equipped to test more than 200 patients for COVID-19 daily and it is one of the front line hospitals of the Western Uttar Pradesh.
To fight the battle against COVID-19 and in a bid to test more UP Government has installed another RT-PCR testing machine costing up to Rs.15 lakhs. Through this JNMCH will be able to speed up the testing.
Aligarh Muslim University, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor informed that the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital of AMU are the accredited centers for testing Coronavirus. According to him, this will speed up the testing and it will go a long way to curb the spread of COVID-19 and added that AMU and affiliated institutions are at the forefront in the fight against COVID-19.
Prof Shahid Siddiqui (Principal, JNMCH) thanked the government for its efforts for installing another RT-PCR testing machine which will help them test more and fight the battle.
JNMCH has conducted more than 3000 free tests of COVID-19 samples and the new machine will surely boost the capacity to conduct more tests. Meanwhile, due to the outbreak fo Coronavirus, all AMU exams have been postponed. The new dates of AMU exams have not been announced yet and the varsity has also postponed all the university level exams that were scheduled till 2nd April 2020. The revised dates for AMU exams will be released after the lockdown is uplifted.
