Andhra University will organise awareness programmes on Entrepreneurship Development in Science and Technology on January 25, 2018. The event is being organised in collaboration with Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Government of Andhra Pradesh, Sujana Foundation, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and NTR Trust. Andhra University has been chosen to host the event for the first time.

During the event, CSIR laboratories will display deployable technologies. The event is open to engineering, management and science students and graduates.

An official associated with the event revealed that the event would lay emphasis on developing start-up culture. With the rise of start-ups, there has been a change in the job market. Many graduates and students are evincing keen interest in choosing entrepreneurship over service. At present, many students are keen to choose IT-based ideas, as they are exposed to the field of science and technology, he added.

Adding further, the official mentioned that the event would provide valuable and commercially viable solutions to the students so that they could make a right choice for a start-up.

It was the idea of CSIR to provide students with a bunch of Science and Technology solutions developed by CSIR laboratories across the country.

The programme launched by CSIR and IICT, ‘Be an Entrepreneur of S and T-Best’ involves an awareness campaign of technologies at different universities across the country. During these awareness campaigns, CSIR will select of potential candidates with exceptional start-up zeal. Experts will mentor the selected candidates so that they could incubate the ideas.
