Heavy rains have been lashing out on several districts in Tamil Nadu and many educational institutes have declared holidays last week. Anna University, Madras University and several government institutions have postponed the semester exams that were scheduled to be conducted on November 3, 2017. Registrar of Anna University revealed that the polytechnic exams have been postponed. The revised schedule for the same would be announced soon. The varsity faced the similar situation last year, where it had to postpone exams due to heavy rains.
The University of Madras and its affiliated colleges have postponed the exam, which was scheduled to start from November 3, 2017. Loyola College and Ethiraj College for Women also postponed the semester exam considering the bad weather conditions. The revised exam dates will be announced later.
Dr. Ambedkar Law University was also left with no option except to cancel the semester exams that were supposed to start from November 3, 2017. There is no clarity on the revised date, however, the varsity will soon issue an official statement regarding the revised date.
Schools and colleges across Tamil Nadu were closed for one week. Tamil Nadu has been experiencing monsoon showers for the past few days, and the severity of rain is more in Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram districts.

On the other hand, many IT companies allowed their employees to work from home. Tamil Nadu had undergone the same ordeal in 2016 due to heavy rains. Schools, colleges and IT companies declared holidays until the situation came under control.
