Following the alarming situation, Anna University has cancelled semester end exams as soon as the announcement came from Indian Meteorological Department. Pondicherry University and Anna University postponed the exams last year too due to the stormy weather. Anna University had postponed exams several times due to various reasons. In fact, the varsity had also postponed the 36th Convocation Day.
Last year, the cyclone devasted Tamil Nadu. Almost all the streets and roads are flooded with water. Most of the public places were damaged due to heavy wind and rain. It took one month for the state to recover from the cyclone effect. In the year 2014, the Cyclone HudHud in Visakhapatnam also caused the similar damages.
