Anna University will organise ‘Kurukshetra’, a technical fest, from February 15 to 18, 2017. The major highlight of the technical fest is an exhibition where various low-cost products will be displayed. Students formed teams from different departments of the varsity and designed various gadgets to display them during the technical fest.
P. Narayanaswamy, Dean of College of Engineering, Anna University revealed that the theme of the technical fest is ‘Combating Climate Change’. He further added that whatever amount or funds they receive during the technical fest would be used for educating underprivileged children.

It is expected that around 7,000 to 8,000 students from across the country will take part in the technical fest. About 30 events are lined up for the fest. On the other hand, there will be 121 exhibits from the students and eight workshops. Mr. Narayanaswamy mentioned that the varsity granted Rs. 5 lakh for organising the technical fest. The amount granted by the varsity helped students work on their interesting bunch of projects. He further said that the ‘Kurukshetra’ is the 11th edition of the technical fest that is being organised by the university.

S. Ganesan, Registrar of Anna University, explained that the varsity also promoted an entrepreneurship cell for women. On February 8, 2017, the officials of the varsity set up an exhibition where various projects designed by the students were displayed. A team has developed a low-cost BP apparatus which could give better readings than the existing digital equipment.
