Pondicherry University, Puducherry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) together with Anyang Institute of Technology (AIT), China to set up an Institute of Chinese Studies.
The President of Anyang Institute of Technology, China and the Registrar, Pondicherry University signed the MoU through video conferencing in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Pondicherry University.
As per an official statement released by Pondicherry University, Anyang Institute will assist the Puducherry-based varsity in establishing an Institute of Chinese Studies, which will focus on learning and teaching of Chinese language and culture.
The statement by the University also stated that the exchange of students, scholars, and faculties between Anyang Institute and Pondicherry University will be facilitated through the MoU.
Established in 1985 by the Government of India, the University of Pondicherry is a Central University that has thousands of students in its affiliated colleges located in Karaikal, Puducherry, Mahé, Yanam as well as the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The University also offers education in distance mode.
Pondicherry University offers education to students through its various schools such as School of Management, School of Engineering & Technology, School of Life Sciences, School of Physical, Chemical and Applied Sciences, Schoo of Humanities, School of Social Sciences and International Studies, School of Education, School of Media and Communication and more.
