AP College Students with 75% Attendance Eligible for Reimbursements

The HRD Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao stated that the students of Andhra Pradesh colleges are eligible to get reimbursements only if they have 75% of attendance in an academic year. The rule is applicable from the current academic year.

The Andhra Pradesh Government is going to implement Biometric attendance in all the colleges soon. For this purpose, the ground work has been made and the colleges are directed to set up Biometric attendance. The rule is applicable to all the government and private engineering, degree and PG colleges.

HRD Minister also mentioned that the government is planning to strengthen the IIITs in Andhra Pradesh. For this purpose, agreements have been made with some foreign universities. The government has allotted lands to set up VIT, NID, Centurion and Amity institutes in the new capital region. The recruitment for these institutes will be made through Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) examination.

The go-ahead for the admissions into IIIT Srikakulam and IIIT Ongole will be announced soon.
