AP Government decided to postpone AP Inter Exams 2021 that are scheduled to begin on May 05 respecting the suggestion given by High Court. The government will submit its decision to court on May 03. Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to go ahead with Intermediate Exams 2021 amid the Covid-19 pandemic has welcomed criticism among parents, students and experts. With the number of Covid-19 cases has already crossed 15,000 per day in AP, experts opined that conducting exams in this situation is unsafe. The new dates for AP Inter Exams 2021 will be announced soon.

Highlights of AP High Court Hearing on AP Inter & SSC Exams 2021 PIL
The High Court took up the hearing on PIL to postpone or cancel AP Inter & SSC Exams 2021. Some of the major highlights of hearing are as follows -
- The court did not agree with the government's argument about conducting exams in this Covid-19 pandemic situation.
- Students should not be subjected to mental stress. They should appear for exams with a good state of mind and concentration.
- The court asked the government to rethink its decision to conduct the exams and file an affidavit or counter by May 02.
- The court will take up the next hearing on May 03, and announce its final decision.

Adimulapu Suresh conducted a press meet on April 29 to give a clarification on Intermediate Exams 2021. Here are the major highlights of his press meet -
- All arrangements are being made for the exam
- Students' safety is the complete responsibility of the government
- Special isolation rooms in every exam centre for candidates with Covid-19 symptoms.
- Candidates who have been tested positive for Covid-19 on or before the exam day need not appear for the exam. These candidates will be given another chance.
- Question papers have been dispatched to police stations across the state.
- The number of exam centres has been increased. Total number of exam centers almost 1450+
- Medical staff at all exam centres to assist students if required.
- PPE kits to invigilators
- Covid special office has been appointed in all district to supervise the safety measures.
- Students can use IPE Exam Locator App to locate the exam centre and check seating arrangement
AP Intermediate Exam Day Guidelines 2021
- Reach the exam centre at least one hour before the exam
- Do not forget to carry your Hall Ticket
- Wearing Face Mask is mandatory
- Gloves on hands can be used
- Do not exchange things
- Do not shake hands
- Do not get in contact with unknown people
- If possible, try to carry a small sanitiser bottle
- Avoid overcrowding or standing in groups at the exam centre
- Follow social distancing measures strictly
- If you have Covid-19 symptoms, inform the exam centre authority one day before the exam. You will be allocated a separate room
