AP-SET 2017 Answer Keys to be Released on August 10 by Andhra University

Andhra University will release the preliminary answer keys of AP-SET (State Eligibility Test) 2017 on August 10, 2017. The varsity conducted AP-SET 2017 on July 30, 2017. AP-SET is similar to National Eligibility Test (NET) in terms of exam pattern, purpose, eligibility criterion and others. However, only aspirants from Andhra Pradesh can appear for the AP-SET examination. The final answer keys of AP-SET 2017 will be released on August 20, 2017. The results will be processed and released as per the new guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

AP-SET 2017 examination took place in 31 subjects for which UGC had accorded permission. In 2014, Osmania University conducted State Eligibility Test (SET) for combined Telugu states, i.e., Andhra and Telangana. After the separation of Andhra Pradesh from Telangana, Andhra University prepared a proposal and submitted it to UGC for conducting the AP-SET examination.

Candidates who qualify for AP-SET examination are eligible to become lecturers in government degree colleges, state-level universities, aided and un-aided colleges. Currently, there are 1,192 aided and un-aided colleges in Andhra Pradesh along with 146 government degree colleges.

AP-SET score is mandatory for the candidates who wish to apply for the state-level examination for the recruitment of lecturers in degree colleges. The government of Andhra Pradesh will take all the necessary steps to conduct recruitment process once a year depending on the number of vacancies. Earlier, the government also rolled out a proposal to privatise some of the state-run degree colleges which is under review.
