The application date for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test 2016 has been extended to 30-July-2016. Initially, the online application process had to be close by 25-July-2016. However, most of the students made recommendations to the government regarding the extension of application date. This year, the AP government has given the responsibility of conducting APSET examination to Andhra University.

The government of AP conducts APSET for every two years to fill up the junior lecturers post at various government/aided junior colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Previously, the SET was conducted by Osmania University. After the division of Andhra Pradesh from Telangana, Andhra University has been given responsibility to conduct APSET.
The SET certificate acts as an additional qualification for the candidates who want to work in engineering colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Most of the private colleges offer better salaries for those who have qualified APSET.
The candidates who did not apply for APSET can apply on or before 30-July-2016 by 5.00 PM. The examination is scheduled to take place on 11- September-2016 (Sunday).
