Bloomberg News and Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) have jointly launched India’s first co-branded programme for Financial Journalism. The programme will be offered at Post Graduate (PG) level.

Bloomberg News and Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) have jointly launched India’s first co-branded programme for Financial Journalism. The programme will be offered at Post Graduate (PG) level. The course is designed with an objective to help students develop and gain requisite skills required in a global newsroom. Students will be trained on the recent developments in the field of journalism under this programme as in the current scenario, mastering journalism skills is an essential requirement considering increased competition plus more digital outreach.

According to a press release that was released by Bloomberg News, it indicated that the students will be trained in the following skills: -

  • Government reporting
  • Fundamentals of finance
  • Investigative reporting
  • Journalism ethics
  • Digital and multimedia reporting
  • Writing and editing

Renowned press brands such as Business Line, The Hindu and Mint will support the programme. India’s most renowned journalists and business leaders will lead the programme.

Mr. John Micklethwait, Editor-In-Chief of Bloomberg News was excited to launch this programme. Speaking about the programme, he revealed that both Bloomberg News and Asian College of Journalism have developed the curriculum for the same. The ideas of best minds in journalism, business and finance have also been incorporated in the course structure.

The first batch of the Financial Journalism course will be lead by former Deputy Editor of The Hindu Business Line, Mr. Jarshand NK.
