Aspiring to appear for NEET UG 2023? Check Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

NEET Eligibility 2023: NEET UG 2023 exam date has been announced and the registration process is expected to begin soon by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Those who are willing to appear for the only medical entrance exam in the country must check the eligibility criteria for it. The official eligibility criteria for NEET 2023 will be released at neet.nta.nic.in, and the candidates can check the tentative eligibility criteria of NEET 2023. The eligibility criteria include the educational qualification and age limit of category-wise candidates. The exam will be held on 7th May 2023.

NEET UG 2023 Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

The eligibility criteria and age limit of NEET UG 2023 have been discussed below- 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria contain nationality, number of attempts, and educational qualification requires- 

Nationality

• Candidates who are Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals are allowed to fill out the application form.

Maximum Number of Attempts

• There are no restrictions i.e., one can appear for the exam as many times as they wish to. 

Qualifying Exam and Eligible Marks

• In order to apply, candidates must have passed their 12th board exam or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. 
• Candidates appearing for their qualifying exam this year can also appear for the NEET UG entrance test. 
• General category candidates must have scored 50% marks in their qualifying exam. 40% and 45% marks are mandatory scores for SC, ST, and PwD category students.

Age Limit

The upper and lower age limit of NEET UG 2023 are as follows- 

• As of 31 December 2005 the year of admission to the Undergraduate Medical Course, he/she will be 17 years old or will be 17 years old at the time of admission.
• There is no upper age limit decided by the authorities.
