Assam HS First Year Exams 2022 have been declared postponed by the AHSEC by an order dated May 17, 2022, by the AHSEC Controller of Examination.
Assam HS First Year (Class 11) Exams 2022 have been postponed by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). The Assam HS First Year Exam 2022 was scheduled from May 18, 2022, to May 21, 2022. However, a notice on May 17, 2022, by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) instructed the heads of all the institutions in Assam to postpone the exams until further notice.
The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has declared the postponement of exams, in consideration of the Assam Floods. About 2 lakhs people of Assam have been affected by the flood, and over 20 districts. The state of Assam has experienced heavy rainfall in the past few days resulting in floods. The Brahmaputra River known as the sorrow of Assam has exceeded the danger level.

Further, a district in Assam, Dima Hasao has also been hit by a landslide making it locked from all sides. Communication to the district is blocked from all sides. The roads and railways to other parts of the state are also suspended. Additionally, Assam’s connection to Mizoram, Tripura, and Manipur is also suspended due to the flood and landslides. The heavy rainfall in the state instigated the landslide and has affected many.
The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) in consideration of the current situation of the state, has postponed the HS First Year (Class 11) exams. The notice by Pankaj Borthakur, AHSEC Controller of Examination, clearly reads that all the institutions under AHSEC instruct the heads that the exams will be suspended until further order due to the natural calamities and damages by the weather. Additionally, the notice states that the exams in the Dima Hasao district are suspended till June 1, 2022, due to disruption of surface communication.
