With an objective to familiarise students with education and career prospects in the United Kingdom, the British Council had organised ‘Study UK-Discover You’ exhibition on November 20, 2017. It is a one-day exhibition covered different topics, including career prospects in biosciences, lifestyle in the UK and student visas.
Over 900 students and parents visited the exhibition. It was a platform for them to interact with representatives from 48 UK institutions. During the interaction, both parents and students have clarified their queries relating to visas, course choices, scholarships and applications.

The following are some of the reputed UK universities or institutes that took part in the exhibition: -

- London Metropolitan University
- King’s College London
- Cranfield University
- University of London
- Aston University
- Aberystwyth University
During his visit to India in May 2017, British Deputy High Commissioner, Dominic McAllister expressed that the academic ties between UK and India would strengthen further, as new opportunities will be created in the field of academics. He also gave details about study programmes and scholarships offered by the UK universities to individuals and institutions. The research output of both the countries will also improve by taking up joint research initiatives and teacher-student exchange programmes.

The government of UK abolished visa restrictions through which more Indian students can take up higher studies in the UK. The British government also announced 600 scholarships for Indian students who wish to take up higher studies in the UK.
