The Academic Senate of Kakatiya University has approved a budget of Rs. 230.60 crore for the current financial year. The 32nd meeting of Academic Senate was held on the campus recently and the proposed budget has been approved. Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University, Prof. R. Sayanna chaired the Senate meeting. The budget was presented by Dean of Commerce and Business Management, Prof. M. Subramanya Sarma. Former VCs, principals and members of senate also took part in the meeting.
As per the calculations, the expected revenue that will be generated by the university is Rs. 205.82 crore and total expenditure will be around Rs. 230.63 crore. The segregation of budget for various development activities has been made in the meeting.

On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University revealed that the main objective of the varsity is to maintain standards and ensure quality education for students. Currently, the varsity is preparing for NAAC re-accreditation. The varsity introduced Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) last year and received a positive feedback from various affiliated colleges and students.

He also thanked the Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao for enhancing grants to the varsity in the recent budget. The increased grants will help the university to provide more facilities to students. He revealed that the varsity received a grant of Rs. 67 to 75 crore. On the other hand, the varsity also received an additional grant of Rs. 50 crore to take up developmental activities. Through these funds, the varsity will construct hostels and develop infrastructure.
