CBSE to Launch Artificial Intelligence Course in Class 8th, 9th and 10th

CBSE to introduce artificial intelligence courses in classes 8, 9, 10. The board will also help in the capacity building of schools for the teaching-learning of the new subject from the next academic session. 

CBSE to Launch Artificial Intelligence Course in Class 8th, 9th and 10th

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) as an elective subject in classes 8th, 9th and 10th. The aim of the board is to make school students well-versed in technologies and enhance their skills in the same.

The syllabus for the new AI elective subject will be drafted for all the three classes. The board will also focus on capacity building of the schools for the teaching-learning of AI from the next academic session.

According to the CBSE officials, the demand of AI professionals is growing day by day. Artificial intelligence has the ability of a machine, as it can perform many tasks such as speech recognition, visual perception, decision making and others. Therefore, it is important that the board modernizes its curriculum as per the industry trends.

One of the other officials of the CBSE informed the idea of launching artificial intelligence as an elective subject in school is the idea of NITI Aayog. The board had several meetings with stakeholders regarding the same and after a comprehensive discussion, and it was decided to launch AI as a vocational subject.

Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to introduce two sets of question papers for class 10th mathematics board exam. One question paper will be easy, and the other will be standard to check the ability of class 10th students in mathematics subjects from the next academic session.

The board will provide students with an option to either opt for standard testing question paper or the easier one. Students who do not plan to take up mathematics in higher classes can opt for the easier test.

In case a student who has opted for an easier question paper decided to opt for the standard question paper, they can do so in the month of July. The board will soon release an official circular regarding the same.
