Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the notification for the private candidates of Class 10 & 12 who have failed or passed compartment exams and wish to appear for the exam to improve their score in a particular subject. The last date for submitting online application is November 7, 2016. The candidates have to apply through the official website of CBSE. The examination is scheduled to take place in March 2017.

Steps to fill online application form:-
- Visit the official website of CBSE
- On the homepage, there is a link which states ‘Application Information for Private Candidates for Exam 2017 (Class 10 &12)’. Click on it.
- A new page opens which contains instructions. Read them carefully
- Before filling the application form, it is advisable to keep the information like previous admit card number, marks sheet details ready
- Click on the category of the examination
- Fill all the details carefully
- Select the subject and choose the city
- Click on ‘Submit’
- After submitting application, an application number will be displayed
- Note down the application number for future references
- Then, click on ‘Upload Image’ option
- Upload the scanned copy of photograph and signature
- Now, go to fee payment option
- Pay the fee by using e-challan or demand draft
- Finally, click on ‘Generate Confirmation Page’
