On March 28, 2018, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had an interaction with Union HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar regarding Class 10 Maths and Class 12 Economics paper leak. He directed the ministry to impose strict rules and action against the paper leaks in important exams of the board. PM of India responded soon after CBSE cancelled the Class 10 maths exam due to paper leak. Mr. Narendra Modi further sought a report on the action taken against those involved in the paper leak.

The Prime Minister further expressed his disappointment and unhappiness over the question paper leak. These instances will unnecessarily put the future of students at stake, he opined.

Within 24 hours after cancelling the Class 10 Maths exam, CBSE announced re-exam dates of Class 10 Maths and Class 12 Economics paper. However, the new schedule will disturb the summer plans of the students. Parents, students and teachers are not happy with the current happenings.

Responding to the reports on the paper leak, Union HRD Minister, Mr. Prakash Javadekar revealed that the board is conducting an internal enquiry, and the persons involved in this scam will be punished. The government will introduce a newsystem to prevent further leak of question papers. CBSE is not solely blamed for the paper leak. There are some loopholes in the existing system, and the government will replace it with a new system, he added.

However, Javadekar has not given any details on the new system and its functioning. The government will utilise the latest technology to prevent the leak. The new system will be implemented on April 02, 2018.
