COVID-19 Impact: IGNOU Final Year Exams to Take Place in September

IGNOU will conduct the June Term End Examination or TEE for final year or end semester students in September as per the revised UGC Guidelines. The intermediate year/ semester exams will take place in December.

IGNOU will conduct the June Term End Examination (TEE) for the final year in September due to the COVID-19 crisis. According to the official report of the open university, June TEEs will be held from the first week of September for the final year and final semester students of bachelor's degree, master's degree, diploma, certificate, and post-graduate diploma programmes.

The exams will take place as per the revised guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Recently, UGC has issued an official notification regarding the revised guidelines and has asked the universities across the country to conduct the final year/ semester exams on the basis of the same by September-end.

Only those students can appear for the final year/ semester examinations who were eligible to appear in June 2020 TEE and fulfill the university norm and registration validity period. The open university also informed that the TEE for the students of the intermediate year/ semester will take place in December 2020. Due to the ongoing crisis of COVID-19, IGNOU will also extend the registration of students which was to end in June 2020 to December 2020.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak in India, many state exams and national exams have been postponed/ cancelled. The exam dates for some of the postponed exams is yet to be announced. Most likely the dates will be announced once the situation is stable.
