The Union Minister of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced the release of “Deeksharambh”, which they refer to as a guide from the University Grants Commission for Student Induction Programme.
During the release of the programme, the HRD Minister mentioned that the Student Induction Programme will help the students feel comfortable in the new environment and adjust to the customs and practices of the higher educational institution. He added that the aim of the programme is to instil the ideas, practices and spirit of the educational institution that they have joined. Along with these, the students will also be able to create a relationship with other students as well as the faculty members which will directly result in inculcating a realisation of a far deeper purpose in the students along with motivating to explore themselves as well.

The Student Induction Programme, the Minister stated, will commence as soon as the student arrives at the college before his/her classes begin at the college. The induction programme will provide the students with the necessary information such as the practices, policies, values, cultures, different processes along with the being assigned with various mentors from the college. He stated that the mentoring process will help the students to create a kind of relationship with the teachers that will help them boost their academic growth without many issues.

In order to promote the usage of Deeksharambh, i.e. the student induction programme, the authorities at the University Grants Commission have announced that they will be conducting various awareness programmes and other training programmes for the teachers in the different higher education institutions across the country.
