The Department of Education of the Government of Delhi has launched an entrepreneurship curriculum this year, where they will be holding “special classes” for the purpose of cultivating an idea and spirit of entrepreneurship in the young minds of the children. One part of the entrepreneurship curriculum includes the students meeting with the local entrepreneurs of Delhi who have had a successful business story to share. With the help of this section of the curriculum, the students will have the opportunity to learn what it really takes to be an entrepreneur.

The Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia spoke with the media and stated that the reason as to why they chose local entrepreneurs over the big names in the industry was to allow the students to be able to connect with the issues and situations that they are familiar with. He stated that bringing in someone like Narayan Murthy while being a great motivational opportunity, will be looked upon by the children as an “unbeatable target”. He further added that bringing in someone from their own localities will allow the students to relate with the entrepreneurs and their stories.
