The highly anticipated DU postgraduate first admission/ merit list has been released today i.e. 24th July 2019. The University of Delhi postponed the release of PG Admission/ Merit List for almost a week. The admission/ merit list of DU PG has details about the overall scores of the candidates and shortlisting the names of candidates for interview and counselling related to the admission procedure. July 18 2019, 17:30 (IST): As per the revised guidelines of Delhi University for PG admissions 2019, the college/ department/faculty/ centre will not retain original documents of the students after the verification. However, the provisionally admitted students will be required to produce the original documents within a week after the last of PG Admission for forensic verification. Candidates who are unable to provide the same, the said candidate admission may be cancelled.
July 17 2019, 15:00 (IST): A total of 1,54,075 students have registered for the postgraduate registrations at DU out of which 131129 have paid the application fee.
July 17 2019, 13:00 (IST): DU will release five cutoffs and in case there are seats left, there will be more cutoff lists for PG admissions.
July 17 2019, 11:30 (IST): Delhi University PG first cutoff was to be released on 16th July 2019. However, it has been postponed and now it will be released on 18th July 2019.
The candidates who are interested in taking admission to any of the postgraduate programmes will need to verify that they meet the cut-off criteria for the programme that they wish to pursue. Once they have verified the same, the registered candidates will need to reach the college with the required documents as well as pay the required fee for the booking of the seats. The students will be able to check the cut-off lists for the programme from their choice of college on the official website of college they wish to pursue their higher education. As per sources, Delhi University Colleges will be releasing at least 5 cut-off lists for the postgraduate programmes, depending on the number of seats that are available.
In order to be able to book a seat for themselves, the candidates will need to pay the fees for the seats via online mode by 3 o’clock in the afternoon, the next day. Following the payment of the fees, the candidates will be asked to visit the college with all the necessary documents for the document verification process as stated by the college themselves.
As per the statistics that have been released from sources, Delhi University has witnessed registration of a total of just over 1.54 lakh candidates who wish to pursue their Masters from the colleges affiliated to the Varsity. Out these students, more than 1.31 lakh applicants have already paid the application fee. Among the different categories that have registered for the PG programmes at the varsity, More than 70, 000 students belong to the unreserved category, more than 30,000 students belong to the OBC category, SC and ST categories have seen 19558 and 6463 applications, meanwhile the newest additions to the reserved category, i.e. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) has seen 4447 applications for the admissions to the PG programmes.
