Mr. Devesh Sinha, Dean of colleges had briefed about the process. He directed the governing bodies of the colleges to first send the details of all the vacant positions and reservation rosters for approval to Delhi University. Next, it will be the college’s responsibility to screen the submitted application forms and fix interviews for hiring. The only thing DU can do is to send the name of the experts if asked by the college’s governing body He also informed that the application forms are designed in such a way that a candidate only needs to change the name of the college and can apply to all the colleges where their preferred subject is taught. Earlier, the API score of a particular applicant varied from college to college which used to create a lot of problems and complaints. But now, a candidate will automatically receive the API score after filling the same form.

Of a total 10,000 seats, there are around four thousand vacant seats in Delhi University. These have been occupied by ad hoc teachers who are appointed every 4 months. The new roster and UGC guidelines are to be kept in mind while hiring. Though, according to several teachers these rules are discriminatory with respect to reserved categories. However, DU stated all rules followed are good and unbiased.
