Delhi University to Conduct Online Counselling for 10 UG Courses

The University of Delhi has decided to hold online counselling for 10 Undergraduate (UG) courses and possibly all Post Graduate (PG) courses. A committee constituted by the varsity to submit its recommendations on online counselling had submitted its report on February 09, 2018. The committee favoured conducting online counselling.

For conducting online counselling process, Delhi University will develop software through which students will be allowed to choose 10 colleges based on their cut-offs and other preferences. The online counselling process will save the time both for students, as well as, college managements.

An official associated with the Admission Committee revealed that the varsity is trying to shorten the admission process. The varsity is fed up with the prolonged admission process, which is a result of unrealistic cut-offs. Therefore, the varsity is intended to hold online counselling for various courses.

According to sources, the varsity will conduct online counselling for UG courses in Management Studies (BMS), Music (B.A Music), Business Economics B.A in Eco) and Business Administration (BBA). If the online process is successful for these courses, the new system will be implemented for other courses as well. More details regarding the online counselling process will be released soon.

As per the existing DU admission process, students will have to register online for Delhi University admissions to UG courses. Colleges affiliated to DU will release the cut-offs for various courses, and students who satisfy the prescribed cut-off mark will have to visit the college individually to seek admission. Through online counselling process, students need to visit the college.
