Delhi University is going to conduct online entrance examination for the first time for the admission to post graduate (PG) and research programme. The varsity has started the process to conduct the online examination.
For this purpose, the varsity has called for tenders on April 12, 2017, to outsource the process of conducting the online examination. The admission process for PG courses will be delayed by one month as the varsity has decided to conduct an online exam. The entrance exam will take place in 18 cities across the country.
Usually, the application process for Ph.D./ M.Phil/ PG courses begins in the first half of April. This year, the application process is expected to start in May as the last date to submit the tenders is April 26, 2017.

The varsity will also use the entrance tests for selecting modules for undergraduate courses that include Bachelor of Financial and Investment Analysis, Bachelor of Business Studies, Business Economics, BA (Hons), Law and B.Ed. The admission to these courses will be based on the entrance examination.
One of the senior officials of Delhi University assured that the admission process will start on time even though there will be a delay in the admission process. The application process is expected to commence in the first week of May.

He further explained that conducting online examinations will ensure transparency in the system and the varsity will be able to conduct the entrance exam in almost 18 cities now including the capital city.
As per sources, the online exam will have multiple choice questions and the duration of the exam will be two hours. The exam will take place in three shifts between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
