Thanks to the digital mode of communication, even bad weather condition cannot force away the recruiting companies from their goal in the recruitment drive at IITs.
This is exactly what is happening to the recruiting companies at IIT- Kanpur at the present placement drive. Due to the bad weather conditions, several companies have opted for a video-conferencing mode for interviewing the candidates.
Most of the recruitment firms are arriving late on the campus due to delay in trains and flights because of bad weather condition. However, the placement cell of the institute is trying to make all efforts to accommodate the hiring companies. The interviews keep on going until the late evening and the staff of the placement cell engages with them continuously.
Due to the time crisis, several companies have taken resort to social networking applications and video conferencing for the interviews. The placements cell did not disclose the names of the companies that had conducted the interviews through the digital mode.

They were supposed to take part in the placement drive after their arrival. Though companies are taking interviews through video conferencing, they want each candidate to be present in the campus physically for one-to-one interaction later.
On the fifth day of the placement drive, more than 400 engineering students received job offers at IIT Kanpur.
