Disabled Daughter of MP Based Farmer Clears PSC
Rajini Verma has made her family proud by clearing the interview of the 2012 Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (PSC) exam. She is the daughter of a farmer and resides in the Betul District of Madhya Pradesh.
36-year-old Rajini who hails from Sohagpur village got the second rank among the physically challenged category candidates. She teaches mathematics at the government middle school in Sohagpur. Rajini’s left leg is partially paralysed because of polio.
The strong-willed Rajini said that with her problem she couldn’t walk properly and willed herself to create her own distinguished identity. She has been a bright student and has done M.Sc in mathematics.
The interviews were cancelled in 2012 but it didn’t shake her soaring spirits. She didn’t give up because she was confident that she will clear the exam one day, added Rajini.
Rajini’s first attempt for the PCS exam was in 2012. She had qualified both the preliminary as well as the mains but the interview was cancelled as the question papers were leaked.
Rajni sat for the exam again in 2013 but was disqualified in the interview round. She also gave the exam in 2015 and cleared preliminary exam while the result of mains is yet to be announced.
She later found out that interview dates were announced for the state public service commission for the 2012 batch as per the ruling of Madhya Pradesh high Court ruling. She gave the interview on July 14. The results were declared on August 5 and Rajini was selected.
She said, “I will first do something for physically challenged people because I know what they go through.”
