MSBTE has initiated measures to promote academic excellence at it’s affiliated diplomas. Accordingly, in order to promote Laboratory development & encourage practical conduction with the satisfactory output from types of equipment and their utilization, MSBTE launched the MSBTE “Best Laboratory Awards” for 2014-15. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-. Ten such awards were to be awarded.
Online applications were invited from eligible institutions as per under reference. Applications from 40 institutions were received and only 15 were found primarily eligible. After verification by expert teams, only four laboratories were found to have qualified for the award. The final winners for the award was the DKTE Institute.
Prof.S.A.Shetti of DKTE received the award at the auspicious hands of Dr.Abhay Wagh, Director MSBTE, in the presence of Dr.Vinod Mohitkar, Secretary MSBTE at the function held on 22nd April 2016 in Mumbai.

DKTE Library is housed in a spawning 3000 sq mt area with internationally renowned collection of Books, International magazines, Bound Volumes & Compact Disks (C.D’S) on wide varying subjects such as Technical, Science, Business & societal. The library continues to be a “Prime resource” supporting Teaching, Research & Consultancy Services offered to Faculty, students, Researchers, Industrial members & Private firms.
Library procures books & Journals annually. Apart from this, it has also received several donations from enlightened students/staff consultants and well-wishers. Considering the rapid advances in various branches of engineering the management of our Institute makes provisions to the tune of Rs. 7 lakhs every year for the library budget, enabling the fast growth of its collections, apart from provisions for Instruments/ equipments to the tune of Rs 4 lakh/year. On an average around 500 students / day visit various sections of library to use the facilities
