DMER Expels 19 Medical Students for Using Fake Certificates

All the students were expelled on Tuesday i.e. 9th August’ 16.
DMER Expels 19 Medical Students for Using Fake Certificates

The DMER which is Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Pravin Shingare has asked all the medical colleges in Maharashtra to check the certificates of students who took admission under reserved category. This has been asked because the council got a tip off from a staff member that students who have taken admission under reserved category used fake certificates and with the help of this tip off, 19 students who submitted fake certificates were caught.

A police complaint has been filed against those 19 students and they have been expelled. The students took admission under the quota of seats reserved for scheduled tribe and scheduled caste in colleges of Mumbai and Kolhapur. These students took admission in the academic year 2013 and 2014.

Out of those 19 students, 9 students have confessed that they are from a village in Northeast Maharashtra, near Nandurbar. All the students were expelled on Tuesday i.e. 9th August’ 16. Nine students out of the total are from the Grant Medical College at JJ Hospital. Following are the names of students:

  • Mohammad Reshamwala
  • Shaikh Tayabe Yunus
  • Aayesha Reshamwala
  • Awais Khan
  • Mohammed Israrul Qadari
  • Maria Shaikh
  • Areeba Khan
  • Nuamana Mansuri
